nettoyage de printemps

“Heal the space within you by beautifying the space around you.”  Our physical health, mental health, emotional stability and spiritual well being, bien-être, are connected to the houses we live in. Houses are an outward manifestation of our souls. The way your home looks and functions has something to say about the way your inner voice is speaking to you.  Let the act of cleaning become a working prayer to transform your life from the inside out.  Spring cleaning, nettoyage de printemps.

Above is the interior of an old ruin in Southwest France.   This cabanon was used by workers and travelers as a refuge from the heat of the sun, a place to bake and break bread together and a shelter to sleep in after a long journey. If these walls could talk what they would say? I believe the molecules of a space hold energy from previous inhabitants.  I also believe, that a person and their environment aren’t separate.  They form an interdependent partnership.  What are the walls of your home saying about you?

“All the external dust and debris around you is basically a manifestation of the faults and stains within your own mind.  Therefore, as you cleanse your environment know that you are also cleansing your mind.”                                                                                                                                                    Dalai Lama
