New Adventures 2027
Since there are so many wonderful places to visit in southern France, I’ve created a wish list of new French Country Adventures to offer you a fresh tapestry of tours. I’ve narrowed the choices to five different areas, each with their own unique footprint. Please let me know which interests you the most by sending me an email
Auvergne-Rhône-Alps offers a colorful palette of destinations. On either side of the Rhône Valley, there are the Drôme with its charming villages, gently rolling hills, lavender fields and mountains, and the Ardèche on the other, with its famous gorges, picturesque villages, medieval castles and superb panoramas.
The Dordogne is considered the Loire Valley of the Middle Ages because there were so many castles built along both sides of its magnificent river. It is an area of natural beauty, rolling hills, old villages, and small country towns. Some of the places we will visit Monpazier, Bergerac, Chateau Boniguel, Sarlat, the Jardins de Marqueyssac and Beynac.
The Luberon is a magical place situated in the southeast corner of the Vaucluse, made famous in Peter Mayle’s A Year in Provence, and Ridley Scott’s film version, A Good Year. Small, charming villages and bistros dot the landscape. Some of the Villages we’ll be visiting are Lourmarin, Saignon, Bonnieux, Goult and Ménerbes.
The Tarn offers a surprisingly diverse landscape of beautiful villages, ancient vineyards, wine estates, limestone cliffs and deep gorges. Even so, the region is quiet and peaceful. Within its boundaries lies the Golden Triangle, villages that brought wealth to the region with its blue, “pastel” dye. Some of the villages we’ll be visiting are Albi, Najac, Lautrec, St. Antonin-Noble-Val, Gaillac and Castres.
