mes carnets de voyage

A few days ago I finished reading a book called A Baguette a Day that takes place in the village of St. Antonin Noble Val. Described as one of the most picturesque villages in the southwest, I added it to my list of must-visit. I had already seen the Helen Mirren movie, “A Hundred Foot Journey”, filmed there in 2014, and though I wouldn’t recommend either, I would suggest a trip to this arrestingly beautiful village nestled on the riverbanks of the Aveyron Gorge. The  Gorge carves a deep gash through the limestone plateaux of the Rouergue and Quercy regions in the départment of the Tarn-et-Garonne.  I decided to take a drive there yesterday and followed Tibetan Buddhist, Pema Chödrön’s advice to escape these very difficult and depressing global times by connecting with my sense of discovery and joy. I hope you, too, will find a few moments of charm, peace and beauty.
